Pomegranate Barbecue Sauce
Sep 18th 2025
A fast, fruit-forward BBQ sauce that balances sweet, tart, and a little heat—thanks to The Olive Leaf Pomegranate Balsamic. Brush on grilled chicken, pork chops, salmon, or veggie skewers, or use as a dip for nuggets and fries.
Ingredients (makes ~1¼ cups)
- 1 cup ketchup
- ¼ cup The Olive Leaf Pomegranate Balsamic
- 2 Tbsp brown sugar
- 1 Tbsp deli-style mustard
- 1 Tbsp water
- ½ tsp kosher salt
- ½ tsp red pepper flakes (to taste)
Optional boosters: ½ tsp smoked paprika, ½ tsp garlic powder, or 1 tsp Worcestershire.
Directions
- Simmer. Add all ingredients to a small saucepan. Whisk over low heat until smooth and glossy, 3–5 minutes.
- Use. Brush on meat, chicken, seafood, or veggies during the last 10 minutes of grilling/roasting. Also great as a dunking sauce or burger spread.
Thicker glaze: Simmer 3–5 more minutes to reduce.
Serving Ideas
- Toss with baked or grilled wings.
- Drizzle over meatloaf or pulled pork sandwiches.
- Brush on salmon, then finish with a squeeze of lemon.
- For a spicy-sweet riff, mix 50/50 with your favorite hot sauce.
