Cajun Grilled Shrimp Skewers
Sep 17th 2025
Fast, fiery, and wildly juicy—these shrimp are a weeknight hero and a backyard favorite. Our Garlic Olive Oil carries the spices beautifully so the shrimp char on the outside and stay tender inside. Serve straight off the grill with lemon wedges, pile onto rice, or tuck into tacos.
Ingredients (4–6 servings)
Shrimp & Seasoning
- 2 lb large shrimp, peeled & deveined (tails on, optional)
- 1/4 cup The Olive Leaf Garlic Olive Oil
- 1 Tbsp Paniolo Round ’Em Up 6 Pepper Salt (or your favorite Cajun seasoning)
- 1 tsp onion powder
- Lemon wedges, for serving
Gear
- 8–10 skewers (soak wooden skewers 20–30 minutes)
Directions
- Preheat. Heat grill to 400°F (medium-high). Clean and oil grates.
- Season. In a small bowl, whisk Garlic Olive Oil, Cajun seasoning, and onion powder.
- Skewer. Thread shrimp tightly (no gaps) so they cook evenly. Lay skewers on a rimmed sheet pan.
- Brush. Coat one side with the seasoned oil, flip, and brush the other side. Reserve any remaining oil.
- Grill. Cook 2–3 minutes per side with the lid closed, just until opaque and lightly charred. Do not overcook.
- Finish & serve. Brush with the reserved oil and squeeze with lemon. Serve hot.
Tips & Easy Swaps
- No grill? Broil 4–6 minutes total, flipping once; or sear in a hot skillet 1–2 minutes per side.
- Heat level: Add a pinch of cayenne for extra kick or use a milder all-purpose seasoning.
- Citrus twist: Finish with Lemon or Persian Lime Olive Oil instead of more Garlic Oil.
- Make it a meal: Serve over coconut rice, tossed with pasta, or on top of a big salad.
- Meal prep: Season and skewer up to 6 hours ahead; refrigerate. Grill right before serving.
Why Garlic Olive Oil Works
The infused garlic flavor penetrates quickly and protects the shrimp over high heat, giving you a flavorful sear without dryness—no long marinating window required.
